Leicester Podiatry Clinic was established in 2009. The practice covers all aspects of podiatric and chiropody care. The treatments range from routine chiropody/podiatry management, biomechanical evaluation and orthoses intervention, nail surgery, neurovascular assessments and musco-skeletal conditions/sports injuries.

Leicester Podiatry Clinic also practices Acupuncture techniques to relieve musco-skeletal disorders and manage the pain that arises from them.

Abid Lokat (BSc, MChS, SRCh) is a practitioner with 20 years of podiatric experience. He qualified with a BSc in Podiatric Medicine in 1993 from the University of Westminster. He is a member of The Society Of Chiropodists & Podiatrists and is registered with the Health Professions Council. He is fluent in Gujrati and has a strong understanding of Hindi and Urdu.

He has worked both in the private and public sectors; working for various health authorities including Oxfordshire, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and several Trusts within the city of London. He also, for duration of 5 years, held the post of Regional Clinical Manager for Scholl/ Alliance Unichem, where his remit included the clinical development and on going training of over 70 podiatrists.

He has previously established his own private practice in the Borough of Chelsea and now runs private practices within the city of Leicester. 

TREATMENTS

Podiatrists are health care professionals who have been trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs of the body.

dry needling

Dry needling helps to destroy the verrucae virus by pushing the virus into the deeper adipose tissues, to initiate an immune response so that the body can recognise & kill the virus.

acupuncture

Western medical acupuncture is effective for forms of acute & chronic pain such as, lower back, knee, hip & foot pain, sciatica, sprains, strains, arthritis, tendonitis,  joint pain & sports injuries.

Lower Limb Exercises

Just a note to say a big thank you to Mr Lokat at the Leicester Podiatry Clinic for getting rid of my horrible verrucaes!! I tried for several years with all kinds of treatments ranging from liquid nitrogen to banana skin and felt at a loss.
